The short version

A shared family home

Be honest about who you are, post only what you have the right to share, do not attack people or break the place, and remember that this is an unpaid alpha side project. You keep ownership of what you post. The Hive stays free, ad-free, and outside the data-broker business.

Using the Hive

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and the maintainer of the Hive at thedhghq.com. By using the clicker, creating a profile, posting, or using another Hive feature, you agree to these terms and the Security Brief¹.

You must be legally able to accept these terms where you live. If local law says a parent or guardian must give permission, do not use an interactive feature until they have done so. You may read public areas without creating a profile.

The Hive is maintained as a free side project for DHG alumni, friends, fellow gamers, and anyone who needs a chair. There are no subscription fees, ads, sponsored placements, or paid access tiers. Hive features may grow, change, pause, or disappear as the project develops.

Your profile and clicks

A Hive identity begins with a gamertag, not an email address. You may also share up to two aliases, whether you are a current DHG member, DHG alumni, or a guest, a favorite game, and optional history such as the year you joined, the year you moved on, a Division, squad, and country of origin. DHG history is recorded as years only, never full dates.

Use a gamertag or alias you have the right to use. Do not impersonate another person.
Share only what you are comfortable placing in a community space. The Security Brief identifies what other visitors can see and what stays viewer-only.
Your default identity is tied to that browser. After a successful check-in you may optionally save it to an email address so the same Hive profile can follow you to another browser or device.
Keep your own device reasonably secure. Anyone with access to your unlocked browser may be able to use your Hive identity.

Conduct and self-rule

Open discussion is welcome, including honest discussion of ideas, experiences, decisions, wins, failures, and whatever needs daylight. Say when something is opinion, rumor, or your own memory. Give people room to answer for themselves.

The ordinary community line is simple: ideas may remain, but attacks aimed at a person, illegal content, spam, or exposed private information can be reported. A Wall report hides that exact version only for its reporter and sends preserved evidence to the human Hive watch; it never creates a global takedown by itself. On the Boards, only three distinct targeted-attack reports trigger the narrow community quorum. Possible-illegal reports are urgent human-review signals, never reporter-selected bans. Trusted Wall operators may contain content for review, and only an allowlisted administrator may remove it globally.²

You also agree not to:

Post material you do not have the right to share, including private information about another person.
Threaten, stalk, defraud, impersonate, spam, or deliberately harass another person.
Upload malicious code, automate abusive traffic, evade a ban, interfere with the service, or probe another visitor's data.
Use the Hive to plan or encourage illegal harm.

Self-rule is the normal path for community speech. The maintainer may act immediately when reasonably needed to stop illegal content, a credible safety risk, malicious automation, security abuse, or a legal violation. Access may be limited or ended when these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of the words and other material you submit. You give the Hive a limited, nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, copy, display, and moderate that material only as needed to operate, protect, and maintain the community.

That permission lasts while the material is kept in the Hive and for reasonable backups, security records, and moderation records. It does not give permission to sell your content, place ads against it, build an advertising profile, or train an AI model on it.

Community posts are not confidential. Do not post passwords, recovery codes, legal documents, medical records, precise home addresses, or anything else that would cause harm if another visitor copied it.

Tokens, rewards, and guides

Hive Tokens are play money. They have no cash value, cannot be purchased, are not cryptocurrency, and are not an investment or property right. Redemption is currently paused. Token balances, cooldowns, costs, and alpha rewards may be corrected, reset, changed, or retired when needed to fix abuse, errors, or unfinished features.

Reads and country-aware life guides are general educational information, not legal, financial, tax, medical, mental-health, or other professional advice. Circumstances and local rules change. Check the official sources linked in a guide and use a qualified local professional when the stakes are real.³

Alpha service and honest limits

The Hive is provided on an as available basis. The maintainer will try to keep the porch light on, but does not promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage, error-free features, recovery of an anonymous browser identity, or that every reward can be fulfilled exactly as first described.

No security system is perfect. Use of the Hive is at your own risk, and you are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. To the extent the law allows, the maintainer is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by outages, user content, lost browser access, or reliance on community posts and guides. Nothing in these terms removes a right or responsibility that applicable law does not allow to be waived.

Work in progress: My Space can download the profile data available to this browser. Complete shared-data export, deletion, recovery, support tickets, and a dedicated security-report form are not finished yet. The Security Brief explains today's actual controls and gaps.

Changes and questions

These terms may change as the Hive grows or the law requires. The effective date and version will be updated here, and a material change will be made visible on the site. Continuing to use interactive features after an update means you accept the updated terms.

If one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. A delay in enforcing a term does not give up the right to enforce it later.

Until the planned ticket system is live, send a private message to the site maintainer through the DHG or Hive channel you already use. For a security concern, do not post exploit details publicly and do not include passwords, session tokens, or private keys.
